If you are selected as a model, you will have a phone or in person consult with the artist to discuss days, times and location of the sitting.  "Sitting" is the act of being physically present and posing while I paint.  Sometimes the location will be in my private studio, a common studio, or even on location if that is required for the composition.  Selection of clothing or costuming, props and background will also be discussed.  Models are generally asked to pose and remain as still as possible for 20-30 minute increments with breaks in between.  Pay is $25 per hour and can require multiple sessions. These sessions are broken up to accommodate the comfort and schedule of the model.  All models are treated with respect and privacy and photographs are only taken as an added aid to study and work from when the model is not present. 

Children may be models with the consent of their legal guardian, but the child's consent is also important.  Nothing is harder to paint, than a child who does not want to be there!  The artist has worked with children extensively and uses toys, iPads, books, as well as taking photographs to work from, to make "sitting" easier for them. Photos of children are never posted or sold without explicit permission of the guardian. The privacy and protection of children is of paramount importance to me. I am a mother and aunt myself and have been working with and teaching children for over 20 years.  

For pet models, similar methods are used to keep a pet engaged as long as possible as well as photographs to work from when they cannot stay put any longer.
